This album consists of excerpts and overtures from operas for orchestra by Richard Wagner, conducted by Volker Hartung in exciting recordings with the Cologne New Philharmonic: Wagner's overtures to "The Flying Dutchman", "Meistersinger" and "Lohengrin". In addition, there is a great recording of the finale of the third act of "Parsifal".
